Carry on Modi

We have a right to this information

It is no wonder the way Mr. Lalit Modi has been 'shut up' by BCCI when he sort of leaked some 'inside information'. All he did was to reveal the stakes in the new IPL team of Kerala. The deal is more than finalized and it was in no way a secret deal related to defence of the country. Also IPL or BCCI are not Private corporates and so we have a right to information regarding all their dealings; however big or small. What if someone in the country files an RTI to know about the details of the deal. RTI was formulated because we, the citizens have an undisputed 'right to information'. But that does not mean that we cannot have the information without filing an RTI. So in this regard I strongly feel that the rules and regulations regarding public speaking or writing for the Govt employees be ammended in the larger public interest.

The IT raid in IPL office after this episode is evidence-enough that there was 'something fishy' going on and the country stands to gain after Mr. Modi's expose.

Sadly our pliticians invariably try to distract or distort the matter. Like Mr. Amar Singh who recently commented, "Mr. Tharoor is a young man, so what is bad if he has a lady friend and what is bad if she is rich?" Mr. Singh, we agree there is nothing wrong, but at the same time it is our right and duty too, to see that she is not made richer with public money. The matter is this and not what you have been thinking. We are simply demanding the details of the 'white deal' between the IPL and the lady's company. As simple as that!
