World cup soccer fever is on its peak and more
noticeable thing is the fever for predictions from
'Saint octopus' whose prediction about wins and loses have not went wrong so far.
So our Indian news channel IBN7 too jumps on the wagon and makes a program for
discussion on the octopus. Known people from different fields are invited for
the discussion. These include from astrologers to the rationalists to the
'roadside jyotishi' with a parrot.
Discussion goes on hot but one thing the otherwise 'exposing' natured news channel forgets
is that it is an offence to kill or cage the parrots and the same is being promoted and 'glamorised' here.
It is ironical that instead of reporting the jyotishi and getting him prosecuted, he
is being treated as an honored guest along with his cage containing the poor creature! Moreover,
the cage is so small that the poor creature can barely move.
