Hi! I am Jyoti Narula, the owner of this website. .  NewsJyoti site is not commercial. This is my passion. The commercial website belonging to Newsjyoti group is the webjyoti.com Newsjyoti is my voice as well as the voice of all those who feel their blood boiling whenever they see anything that is illegal, immoral or inhumane. This section is about 'us'; you, me and all those who want to introduce themselves. My personal Email address is: jyoti@newsjyoti.com

I am showing these old and new pictures here because these might remind you of myself as I used the old picture on yahoo 360 and the new one at orkut. I used to blog a lot at yahoo-360. (That site is closed now). Remember that funny brat there? Since then I have grown into a more serious writer and a real fighter; "The fighter for a cause." In fact I re-discovered my writing skills over there in Yahoo 360 blogs. Then on orkut communities also I wrote a lot. One of the communities I floated there was titled 'POK: We want it back now!' (For those who don't know, POK stands for 'Pak occupied Kashmir'. The one-third part of Kashmir that the Pakistan is illegally occupying for the last 60+ years and the successive Indian Governments have done nothing to claim it back). That POK community became very very popular in orkut. It got thousands of members in no time. Ultimately it became an 'eyesore' for the Pakistani members of orkut and they launched a campaign against it. In orkut there was an automatic process that when 1000 people report against a profile or community, it gets deleted automatically without the management even knowing about it. So they did it. Maybe a 1000 Pakistanis or their agents in Kashmir pressed the 'report' button and one day when I visited orkut after a long time, the community was nowhere. I was shocked but all the more determined. Community websites like orkut, facebook etc are nice to fool around and flirt but when it comes to serious isssues, you better watchout for some serious platforms. I have decided to provide you that platform with the introduction of "NewsJyoti".

About me: When not angry, I am a fun-loving, care-free and 'forever 18' type of personality. I 'was' a Mechanical Engineer way back.(I must use the word 'was'). I have left it behind now. Only God knows where life takes you once you are out of the college. My 'forever-in-college' type attitude has helped me not to take studies as burden even at this stage and so I studied all over again my passion 'web-technology' and now running 'webjyoti.com'. So now I am a web-designer and not mechanical engineer. Web development is not only my profession but my hobby too. It gives me job satisfaction. Also I must tell you that since childhood, I had this 'keeda' of becoming a "journalist". In this regard I would like to tell you a fun story of another Mechanical Engineer who took journalism as a full time profession. An American Mechanical Engineer joined a Newspaper as a journalist and went to cover his first story in a country-side. It had so happened that a lunatic had escaped from mental asylum and raped a washer-woman washing clothes in the stream. Then he had escaped.

So our 'Mechanical journalist' who was obsessed with machines and its parts picked up his pen and the headline next day was:

                          NUT SCREWS WASHER AND BOLTS!

Nut stands for the lunatic, 'screw' means 'rape', 'bolt' means 'to run away'. Technically he was right according to the 'slangish' American english. But look at the mess he has created with the sentence. Have you seen anything funnier than this? All I want to say is, please don't mind the language and words while reading what I write. I may be a 'Mechanical journalist' as well.

Also I want to tell you that please don't mind your own language too. This is an informal medium. You may be a 'Mechanical journalist', 'an electrical or electronic journalist', 'a medical journalist' doing post-mortem of the news, 'an army journalist' training guns on the language... anyone writing in his/her own "professional" style! (I invite your jokes in this regard.)

A word for the youngsters in their teens: When I was your age, computers were there of course, but no one had heard of 'internet medium' for the news. It is a very recent discovery. News channels were also not there and have started only after the year 2001 with the introduction of the first private news channel 'Aajtak'. Before that, the only medium where one could write and raise his voice was through newspapers. Common man had only the option to send letters to newspaper editors and then it was all at the mercy of the editors to publish those letters or not. Publishers received thousands of letters everyday and had space to publish only a small percentage of those. I remember an incident. I was studying in HRM School Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi and used DTC buses to commute. On our return journey in the afternoon, there was an ugly bearded driver of the DTC bus no 910, who never cared to stop the bus at our bus stand despite 15 students waiving hands and shouting. His interest was to fill the entire bus at the next bus stop which was SPM girls' college.(Maybe as a result of the curses showered by the school children, that college is no longer on 910 route; today's HRMS students may notice). The bearded devil wanted to fill the entire bus with college girls. As a result we, the school children were left stranded, had to change 2 or 3 buses and waste 20 to 30 precious minutes of our studies. I wrote 2 letters to Mandi house which was an exercise in futile as usual and also 2 letters to newspapers which were never published. Now in 2010 with the change of the world and today's IT atmosphere I have exposed the erring driver and conductor of a DTC bus in a sting operation (read the story in IndianCommuters.com/DTC . As a result both the driver and conductor are reportedly booked and it has become a 'dark spot' on their service record.

Today if a bus driver dares to do the same with the school students as that devil bearded man did to us, one of the students can easily capture the "running bus and waiving students" on his mobile video camera and on the same day get it published at NewsJyoti group's "IndianCommuters.com" or for that matter any other community website and make the life a hell for such God-damned 'tharkee driver.

Writing, shooting and publishing have their own great powers; most of us know now. You are lucky to have grown up in the IT/internet era. Make it a habit to write-and-fight against the evil and the injustice; however small or big it may be. It's your right. It's morally, ethically and legally your right to write for the right and it's absolutely right and also it's your legal, moral and ethical right to write against all that is not right!! (...phew! Don't I write too much!!)

Now consider this: In our class 10th board exams, one of the questions in biology was out-of-the-course and another was a wrong numerical question in physics. I wished I had my own newspaper! Now I have NewsJyoti. It's not only mine; it's yours too. Utilise it with full potential. Today if such a thing happens in your exams, you can immediately scan the paper and show it to the world along with your logic. At least you have an outlet to vent out your anger if nothing else. Write jalikati to your heart's content if you find something happening that invites abuses!(do not use abuses though; you may criticize in a more lineant language.)

I have not lost the fun side of me as well. Take a look at BrandedFun.com 'Newsjyoti brand of fun. Read particularly the 'Khabron ki kabr' and 'Naamkaran Antim Sanskar'. Try and add something to it if you find it really funny.
